Overview

This guide explains how to import prices into a Price Book in Turbo Inventory. Price Book imports allow you to quickly update or create pricing for multiple products at once, such as wholesale, retail, or customer-specific pricing.

Prerequisites

Before importing a price book:

  • Products must already exist in the system

  • You must have access to Settings & Tools and Price Books

  • You must have the Price Book Import file/template

If you do not have the import template, contact Turbo support and it will be provided.

Step 1 — Open Price Books

  1. Go to Settings & Tools.

  2. Open Customers.

  3. Select Price Books.

You will see a list of all existing price books.

Step 2 — Create or Select a Price Book

You can either:

  • Create a new price book, or

  • Edit an existing price book

Example

  • Wholesale Price Book

  • Trade Price Book

  • Customer-specific Price Book

To import prices into an existing price book:

  1. Locate the price book.

  2. Click Edit.

Step 3 — Import the Price Book File

  1. Inside the price book, select Price File Import.

  2. Upload your completed import file.

  3. Confirm the import.

The system will:

  • Read the file

  • Match products

  • Apply prices to the selected price book

Step 4 — Review Imported Prices

After the import:

  • Products are automatically linked to the price book

  • Prices are updated in bulk

  • The price book is immediately available for use

You can now assign the price book to customers or use it in sales documents.

Common Use Cases

  • Creating a wholesale price list

  • Updating annual pricing

  • Importing manufacturer or supplier price updates

  • Managing customer-specific pricing

Best Practices

  • Always download and use the official import template

  • Double-check product codes before importing

  • Test with a small sample first if unsure

  • Keep backup copies of price files

Troubleshooting

  • Products not updating → verify product codes match

  • Prices missing → check required columns in the import file

  • Import errors → review file formatting and data types

Summary

To import a price book:

  1. Go to Settings & Tools → Customers → Price Books

  2. Create or edit a price book

  3. Use Price File Import to upload pricing

  4. Review and apply the price book
