Clocking time on the Mobile App

Modified on Thu, 8 May at 4:29 PM

Turbo Inventory’s workshop time clocking feature allows you to efficiently track time spent on tasks in the workshop, whether you're using the mobile app or cloud version. This guide will explain how to clock time, including options for clocking on, clocking off, and entering time manually.

1. Access the Workshop Module

  • From the Home Screen of the mobile app, navigate to Workshop to see a list of all active workshop tasks.

  • You can filter the tasks to view only work in progress or clocked-on jobs.

  • If no one is currently clocked on, you'll see an empty list for work in progress or clocked-on jobs.

2. Clocking On and Off for Workshop Tasks

  • To start clocking time, click on the work order you wish to clock on.

  • You’ll see the details of the work order, including the reported fault and the ability to clock on.

Clocking On:

  • Simply tap Clock On to start tracking time for that job.

  • If you're using the app with no PIN number required, you’ll be automatically clocked on. Alternatively, if the PIN number setting is enabled, the logged-in user can clock on without the PIN, but staff sharing the app would need a PIN to ensure accurate time tracking.

  • If you attempt to clock on to multiple jobs, you will receive an alert, as Turbo only allows one job to be clocked on at a time.

Clocking Off:

  • To stop clocking time, tap on the work order again and select Clock Off.

  • When clocking off, you will be prompted to add travel time (if applicable) and a write-up explaining the work completed.

  • After entering this information, tap Clock Off to complete the time tracking.

3. Clocking Time Manually

If you need to log time for a previous task that was not clocked on/off in real-time, you can do so manually:

  1. Select the work order you want to add time for.

  2. Tap Clock Time.

  3. Enter your PIN number to verify your identity if required.

  4. Enter the number of hours worked and a write-up describing the work performed.

  5. Tap Save to log the time. The system will automatically clock on for the entered time and mark it as complete.

4. Clocking for Other Staff Members (Supervisors Only)

If you are a supervisor, you can clock time for other team members:

  1. From the Clocking options screen, you will see the Clock for Others option.

  2. Select the staff member for whom you are clocking time.

  3. Choose the work order and task to clock them on or off, or manually enter time on their behalf.

5. Cloud Version Clocking Features

  • The cloud version of Turbo Inventory offers the same clocking functionality, but with additional requirements:

    • PIN number is required for all clocking actions, whether you're clocking on, off, or entering time. This is to ensure proper user identification, especially if multiple people have access to the cloud system.

    • If you are an administrator or supervisor, you can clock time for other staff members and manage multiple work orders.

6. Tracking and Reporting

  • Once time is clocked, the status of the work order will be updated accordingly (e.g., Clocking Complete).

  • You can easily track work progress and time spent on tasks in both the mobile and cloud versions.

  • This system helps ensure that staff members are correctly tracking their time and contributes to better reporting on productivity.

Conclusion

The time clocking module in Turbo Inventory streamlines how workshop tasks are tracked, whether you’re working with the mobile app or cloud version. It allows for efficient time management and ensures that you have accurate records of work done. Whether you're clocking on, clocking off, or adding time manually, this feature helps maintain workflow accuracy and transparency in your workshop.
