Modified on Thu, 8 May at 2:49 PM

In this guide, we will walk you through the process of manufacturing products for stock using manufacturing orders in Turbo Inventory. Based on valuable feedback from our clients, we’ve modified the system to streamline this process, so it can be done more effectively, whether you’re working with a touchscreen on the production floor or using manufacturing orders for stock.

1. Enable Manufacturing for Stock Using Manufacturing Orders

To begin, you need to adjust the settings to allow manufacturing for stock through manufacturing orders.

  1. Go to the Apps section and click on Manage Manufacturing.

  2. In the settings, select All production is done using manufacturing orders.

  3. Click Save to apply the changes.

After this adjustment, you will no longer see the "Manufacture for Stock" option. Instead, you will now work directly with Manufacturing Orders.

2. Create a Manufacturing Order for Stock

Now that manufacturing for stock is enabled via manufacturing orders, you can start the process.

  1. Navigate to Manufacturing Orders from the main menu.

  2. You will notice a new bar visible at the top of the screen. This allows you to select the product you wish to manufacture for stock.

  3. Click Search to view available products. Choose the product you want to manufacture and specify the quantity. For example, you may decide to manufacture 100 units of a product, such as chocolate bars.

  4. Enter the desired quantity (e.g., 100) and click Add.

3. Confirm the Manufacturing Order

When adding products for manufacturing, you’ll notice the following:

  • No sales order number is associated with the product.

  • No customer reference is added.
This indicates that the manufactured products are intended for stock, not for a specific sales order.

  1. After entering the product and quantity, click Create Manufacturing Order to finalize the order.

  2. Confirm by clicking Yes to create the manufacturing order.

4. Process the Manufacturing Order

Once the order is created, you will see it listed in your manufacturing orders. From here, you can proceed with the standard manufacturing workflow:

  • Review the list of manufacturing orders.

  • Continue working on the order as usual.

Conclusion

Manufacturing for stock using manufacturing orders in Turbo Inventory provides a more streamlined approach for handling your production needs, whether you're working on the production floor or managing the orders in your system. This method allows for better tracking and organization of your stock production, ensuring that everything is properly accounted for.
