In Turbo Inventory, you can easily create a service for an on-hire piece of equipment by scheduling a call-out. This process ensures that your team can efficiently track and manage service requests for rental equipment.
1. Access Hire Contracts and Hires
Start by navigating to Hire Contracts and then to Hires in the system.
Use the search bar to find the specific product or hire equipment.
2. Edit the Hire Equipment
Once you've located the hire equipment, click Edit to open the details of the hire contract.
3. Schedule a Call-Out
In the equipment details, you will see an option called Schedule Call.
Note: If you do not see this option, it means the Workshop module is not enabled in your system. You must have the Workshop module turned on to record services in Turbo Inventory.
Click on Schedule Call-Out and then confirm by clicking Yes. This will create a work card for the service.
4. Accessing the Work Card
Once the call-out is scheduled, a work card reference is created for the service.
Go to your Workshop and search for the work card using the reference number. You can also search by booked-in date or the equipment name.
Open the work card to view the details. You will see that it is linked to the hire contract for the equipment.
5. Assigning an Employee
You can assign an employee to the work card by clicking Edit on the work card.
Once assigned, only the assigned employee will have access to the work card, ensuring proper management of the service.
6. Accessing the Service via Mobile App
The work card is also accessible through the Turbo Inventory mobile app. This allows employees to manage services directly from the field.
Conclusion
Creating a service for an on-hire piece of equipment in Turbo Inventory is a straightforward process that helps streamline the scheduling and management of service requests. By following these steps, you can ensure that all necessary details are captured and that the right team member is assigned to the service.
