? Overview

As more businesses shift toward paperless operations, there's a growing need to include multi-page documents—such as Terms & Conditions—when emailing or sharing quotes and invoices with customers. Turbo Inventory supports this by allowing you to append an external PDF to your custom invoice or quote templates.

This guide walks you through setting up a second page (or more) using Report Designer, so your documents automatically include important legal or reference content.

? Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure:

  • Your invoice or quote uses a custom report template.

  • You have your Terms & Conditions PDF hosted online with a publicly accessible URL.

? Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Enable Custom Template

  1. Go to Settings & ToolsReceipt Customisation.

  2. For the A5 Invoice Style, ensure it is set to Custom Template.

  3. Click Save.

2. Open the Template in Report Designer

  1. Scroll down to Report Designer.

  2. Click Open and choose the appropriate template:

    • For invoices: SL_Invoice_Standard

    • For quotes or others, ensure you select the correct file (e.g., SL_Quote_Custom).

ℹ️ If your invoices and quotes use different templates, repeat the steps for each.

3. Insert the Terms & Conditions PDF

Add PDF Content Component:

  1. Scroll down to the Group Footer of the report layout.

  2. On the left-hand toolbar, locate the PDF Content icon (usually labeled or represented by a PDF symbol).

  3. Drag and drop it into the Group Footer section.

Set the Source URL:

  1. In the component’s Properties Panel, set the Source to the URL of your hosted Terms & Conditions PDF (e.g., https://yourdomain.com/terms.pdf).

Why use a URL instead of uploading the PDF?
Using a hosted URL ensures that any updates to the Terms & Conditions are automatically reflected the next time the document is generated—without needing to modify the template again.

? Result

Once saved, any invoice or quote using this template will:

  • Automatically append the hosted Terms & Conditions to the end of the document.

  • Generate a multi-page PDF (e.g., a 1-page invoice + a 6-page PDF becomes a 7-page document).

  • Display the additional pages whether the document is downloaded, emailed, or viewed online.

? Notes

  • The PDF Content must be placed in a valid section of the template like the Group Footer—it will not work in the Page Footer.

  • If the PDF is missing or the URL is broken, the additional pages will not appear in the final document.

  • Always test the output using Preview or Generate PDF before finalizing and using the template in live scenarios.

?‍? Example Use Case

  • You send a quote to a client for €5,000.

  • Your quote template includes your 2-page Terms & Conditions PDF.

  • When the client opens the quote, they see the price breakdown on page 1, followed by your full terms on pages 2 and 3.

? Additional Recommendations

  • Store your Terms & Conditions PDFs in a secure and version-controlled location (e.g., SharePoint, Dropbox, your website).

  • Label your PDF files clearly to avoid confusion (e.g., terms_invoice_v2.pdf).
