1. Enable Multi-Equipment Feature
To get started, you'll need to enable the ability to add multiple pieces of equipment to a work order.
Navigate to Apps in the main menu.
Click on Workshop.
Check the box next to Allow Multiple Pieces of Equipment in the Work Order.
Click Save Changes to apply the setting.
2. Booking In a Work Order with Multiple Pieces of Equipment
Once the multi-equipment feature is enabled, you can start adding multiple pieces of equipment to a work order.
Go to the Workshop module and click on Book In.
Select the customer for whom you want to create a work order.
Click Book In to open their active jobs.
Close the active jobs window to proceed.
3. Adding Multiple Pieces of Equipment
Now, you can add multiple pieces of equipment to the work order:
Click on Customer Items to add equipment.
Enter the details for the first piece of equipment (e.g., SCODA, Fault: Broken 1) and click Save.
Click Customer Items again and add the second piece of equipment (e.g., Camera System, Fault: Broken 2) and click Save.
This will add both pieces of equipment to the same work order.
4. Adding and Allocating Parts to Specific Equipment
Once you have added your equipment, you can add parts to them:
Scan a part and allocate it to the correct piece of equipment (e.g., allocate the part to SCODA instead of the Camera System).
If needed, you can move parts between equipment. For instance, if a part is added to the wrong piece of equipment, you can drag it to the correct one.
This flexibility allows you to easily manage parts across multiple pieces of equipment in a single work order.
5. Managing Time Entries for Multiple Equipment
When working with multiple pieces of equipment, you can also track time and move time entries between equipment. This becomes useful when you need to allocate work time accurately in reports.
As you work, you can drag time entries between the pieces of equipment, ensuring that the time is linked to the correct item.
6. Cloud Version Workflow
If you are using the cloud version of Turbo Inventory, there may be additional steps when adding parts at the start. You could add the SCODA equipment, complete the tasks, and then add the Camera System and complete those tasks as well. The system allows for flexibility in managing both equipment and parts.
