Turbo clocks three different kinds of time, and keeps them apart so job costing stays honest.
The three kinds
Under Apps → Turbo Inventory Mobile App → Clocking Options, Clocking onto offers:
- General Clocking — attendance. On site, off site.
- Work Shop Clocking — time against a repair card
- Project Clocking — time against a project
The same person can clock general attendance in the morning and workshop time on a specific job an hour later, and the job carries the hours that were actually spent on it.
Supervisor clocking
Allow Supervisors to clock time for anyone who has a supervisor assigned against them lets a foreman clock the crew rather than eight people each doing it themselves.
Other clocking settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Use the cloud based clocking option | |
| Do not allow Clock Time | Turns clocking off entirely |
| Break Lengths | Standard break durations |
| Pin Numbers are numeric only / Pin Number is not required | How staff identify themselves |
Stopping forgotten clock-ons
Two settings in Work Shop settings, and one in Projects:
- Automatically clock everyone off at this hour (Lunch)
- Automatically clock everyone off after this hour (Evening)
Both take a time in 24-hour format; leave at 0 to disable. Without these, one person forgetting to clock off on Friday might put sixty hours on a job.
Travel time
Do not allow clocking of Travel Time — untick to let technicians clock travel separately from time on the job, so you can see what travel is really costing.
Manual entry
Allow manual TimeSheets in Work Shop settings permits hours to be entered by hand where clocking wasn't used.
Seeing the time
- Refresh Currently Clock On Report every X seconds keeps a live view of who's clocked on
- Currently Clocked On reports exist for Work Shop, Hire Contracts and Projects
- Employee Hours reports exist in System, Work Shop, Hire Contracts and Projects groups
- On a project, View clocked time shows the hours booked to that job
