Mobile app settings

Configure the Turbo Inventory mobile app under Apps → Turbo Inventory Mobile App.

What the mobile app is, and who should use it

There are Turbo Inventory apps for iOS and Android. They are built for working away from a desk — receiving stock, picking, delivering, clocking on and off, raising a sale from the van.

  • On a phone, use the mobile app. It is the one designed for a small screen and it is what we recommend.
  • On a tablet, you have a choice. Either the mobile app or the full web app in a browser. Which is right depends on the job: the mobile app for scanning and moving around, the web app where someone needs the full screens — a trade counter tablet, for instance.

The two are the same system and the same data. Anything raised on the app appears in the web screens straight away, and documents created on the app are marked as coming from it.

Getting staff logged in

The page holds a QR Code for staff to scan the first time they log in, and a Download link for the app.

Vehicle walkarounds

Users, with selected Vehicles, must do a Walk Around each day requires a daily walkaround check from anyone assigned a vehicle. For drivers, doing it in the app they already have open for deliveries makes it handier, and there's a record.

Deliveries

  • For Deliveries, Proof of Delivery is mandatory — a delivery cannot be completed without proof
  • Lock Deliveries down to the logged in User — a driver only completes their own

Warehouse and picking

SettingWhat it does
Perform live stock countsCount stock as you go rather than in a stocktake event
Allow free entry on the Quantity PickedType the quantity rather than only scanning
When picking stock, you need to scan the Bin LocationForces a location scan — stops picking from the wrong bin
When picking/packing stock, you need to scan the Batch NumberForces a batch scan, so traceability is captured at the pick. Requires free entry on quantity picked.

Those last two help with traceability: the batch is recorded because the picker physically scanned it, not because someone typed it later.

Invoices and transfers

  • Automatically email the Invoice when it is created
  • When creating a Sales InvoiceOrder allow free entry of Batch Numbers
  • When performing a Stock Transfer auto accept it into the branch
