Feature: Multi-Batch Printing for Dispatch Notes
Platform: Turbo Inventory Report Designer
? Overview
This guide walks you through updating your custom delivery or dispatch notes to support multi-batch printing in Turbo Inventory. By default, existing dispatch templates are not batch-printable, as each user’s report is custom-built. To support multi-batch printing, layout and grouping adjustments must be made manually in the Report Designer.
? Why This Matters
When printing multiple delivery dockets at once, the current templates:
Merge all lines into a single page
Only show header info for the first dispatch
By updating your report layout to use grouping and page breaks, each delivery docket can print on its own page, with unique headers and footers.
?️ Prerequisites
Access to Settings & Tools → Report Designer
Existing report template:
SalesOrder_PickingList
Basic familiarity with the Report Designer interface
? Step-by-Step Guide
1. Preview the Current Problem
Go to a Sales Order list
Select two orders and Print Selected
Notice all lines merge on a single page
2. Open Report Designer
Navigate to Settings & Tools → Report Designer
Open
SalesOrder_PickingList
You’ll see the current layout:
Page Header: Static fields (customer, address, etc.)
Detail: Product lines
Page Footer: Signature and general notes
3. Add Grouping Structure
Add a Group Header and Footer:
Click on Detail Band
Insert:
Group Header Band (4th option in toolbar)
Group Footer Band (2nd row, 2nd option)
4. Move Page Footer Contents to Group Footer
Select all content from Page Footer
Cut (✂️), then Paste into Group Footer
In Group Footer Properties:
Set PrintAtBottom = True
Enable Page Break After Band
This ensures each dispatch prints on a separate page.
5. Move Dynamic Header Fields to Group Header
From Page Header, cut dynamic fields such as:
Customer Name
Delivery Address
Contact Details
Dispatch No., Count Code, etc.
Paste them into the Group Header
Resize headers accordingly
6. Assign Group Field
Click on the Group Header band
In Properties → Group Fields, click Add
Enter:
DispatchGUID
(This tells the system to group based on Dispatch ID)
7. Final Adjustments
Shrink unused Page Header and Page Footer
Save the template
8. Test the Output
Go back to your Sales Orders
Print two sales orders again
✅ You should now see:
One dispatch per page
Headers and footers correctly reset for each order
? Tips & Notes
Grouping logic can be applied to any report that requires batch printing.
Always move page-specific content (like dispatch numbers) into group headers/footers.
You can have multiple group levels if needed.
Similar grouping is used in our Custom Statement Templates.
? Result
With these changes:
Sales teams can print multiple delivery dockets in a single action
Each dispatch will have its own page with complete and correct data
Improved professionalism and clarity in outbound documentation
