Trainer: Dave Joyce
Platform: Turbo Inventory (Cloud)
Feature Focus: Report Designer – Sales Invoice Templates
? Purpose
This guide explains how to convert your custom Sales Invoice templates to work seamlessly with Turbo Inventory’s new batch printing feature.
Previously, printing multiple invoices opened separate tabs for each document. Now, Turbo can merge multiple invoices into a single PDF, improving efficiency and simplifying bulk printing.
✅ Why Update Your Templates?
Without updating your custom templates:
All invoices print in one combined block without page breaks
Headers and footers won’t repeat correctly per invoice
Invoices may appear cluttered when merged into a single PDF
Updating your template ensures:
Each invoice prints on its own page
Headers, footers, and totals display correctly
The document looks professional for clients
?️ Step-by-Step Guide
1. Open Your Invoice Template
Navigate to Settings & Tools → Report Designer
Click Open
Select your invoice template (e.g.
SL_Invoice_Standard
)Note: If you use custom templates, repeat these steps for each version.
2. Add a Group Footer Band
Click the Detail Band
Insert a Group Footer Band
Expand its height slightly for content placement
Move Report Footer Content
Select all items in the Report Footer
Cut (✂️)
Click into the Group Footer Band and paste
Align elements neatly within the band
3. Configure Group Footer Properties
Set the following options:
Print At Bottom = Enabled
Keep Together = Enabled
Page Break After Band = Enabled
This ensures each invoice starts on a new page in the merged PDF.
4. Move Report Header to Group Header
Open the Group Header Band
Expand its height
Go to the Page Header or Report Header
Select all header elements
Cut (✂️)
Paste into the Group Header Band
Adjust layout for proper spacing
5. Clean Up Extra Headers
Delete the Page Header Band (no longer needed)
Shrink the Report Header Band to minimum height
6. Assign Grouping by Sales Invoice Number
Click on the Group Header Band
Find the Group Fields section
Click Add (+)
Enter:SalesInvoiceNumber
This tells Turbo to print a separate section for each invoice in the batch.
7. Save and Test
Click Save
Go back to your Sales Invoices
Select multiple invoices and choose Print Selected
Verify:
Each invoice prints on a separate page
Headers and footers appear correctly
The PDF combines all invoices into one document
? Notes
Always test your changes on a few invoices before rolling out to production use.
