You can create extra delivery note templates and choose which one to print for each delivery. The data on them is already stored in Turbo, so there is no extra paperwork to put together.
Common reasons to add a template:
- Exporting to Northern Ireland, the UK or Europe, where extra details such as HS codes are needed.
- Shipping controlled substances that need specific information on the paperwork.
- Delivering stock on behalf of someone else, with their details on the dispatch note.
Step 1: Create the template in Report Designer
The quickest way is to copy your existing picking list and save it under a new name.
- Go to Settings and Tools > Report Designer (opening it in a new tab makes switching back easier).
- Open your existing delivery report, Sales Order Picking List.
- Click Save As.
- Name the template, starting with DeliveryNote, e.g. Delivery Note Export Only.
- Click Save.
Important: The template name must start with "DeliveryNote", or it will not appear as a print option on the Deliveries screen.
Step 2: Customise the template
Add whatever the paperwork needs so staff can tell it apart at a glance.
- Add a Label to the report, e.g. "EXPORT ONLY".
- Make it large and centre it on the page.
- Add any extra fields you need from Turbo, such as HS codes, controlled substance details, or the third party's name and address.
- Click Save.
Step 3: Print using the new template
- Go to the Deliveries screen and refresh the page.
- Find the delivery and click the three dots (⋮).
- Select Print Packing Slip.
- Choose the template: Default Template for your usual layout, or your new one, e.g. Delivery Note Export Only.
- Print and add it to the delivery paperwork.
Clicking the delivery itself still prints the normal default layout.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
New template isn't in the print list | Check its name starts with "Delivery Note", then refresh the Deliveries screen. |
Changes aren't showing on the printout | Make sure you clicked Save in Report Designer, then refresh the Deliveries screen. |
Default layout prints instead | Use the three dots > Print Packing Slip and pick the template; clicking the delivery prints the default. |
